The vision for Worcester Parklands is to be a thriving settlement that offers the best of town and country living. It will deliver new housing with healthy placemaking principles, new employment opportunities, a supporting active transport network, social and recreational infrastructure and open space to cater for the needs of the residents and City.
Worcester Parklands is a new 1130ha (2,793 acre) settlement located to the south east of Worcester adjacent the M5 motorway comprising 10,000 homes and up to 10,000 jobs. It will be a settlement rooted in coherent and landscape led place of substance and character.
Cowen+Partners, in collaboration with JTP, is leading the masterplan for a new garden community at Worcester Parkway. This is a unique collaboration between the two practices and is known as the JCA+JTP Collaboration. In reference to our previous name, Jo Cowen Architects.

The brief was to create a genuinely sustainable development and vibrant haven for living, working, playing and learning. To achieve this, the new town is designed to be embedded in the landscape with green infrastructure and an abundance of natural assets. The masterplan delivers a bustling, thriving new high street, schools, recreation, and other social infrastructure.
The underlying principles of living with the landscape, localisation, healthy living and net zero carbon ambitions are at the heart of the ambitious masterplan. With 13,000 residents and 10,000 jobs, the new town provides for the day-to-day needs of residents with a safe, walkable, and cyclable environment, also highly accessible by rail.
