West London
Our ambition for this West-London regeneration site is greater than the provision of buildings alone; it is to create a London district that is integrated with its surroundings; a place with a balanced ecosystem, where a community chooses to live, work or visit and that fosters a long-term sense of belonging, fulfilment and excitement.
The brownfield industrial site posed several technical constraints due to the nature of the levels and underground services as well sensitive heritage assets. Cowen+Partners was able to overcome these difficulties while leaning into the history of the site. Modular construction was proposed together with unitised facades and green technology.
The client’s vision was for a new residential neighbourhood built around high-quality public realm. The landscape-led design therefore allowed for both public and private open space with a green heart for the neighbourhood.
