Netherall Gardens
Cowen+Partners was briefed to create a sustainable extension to the southeast of Cambridge, contributing to the housing growth needs of the city.
We are designing for a successful, long-lived community that begins with our shared need and want for friendship, joy, fascination, and pride. It’s this need that underpins the design for the Netherhall development, an intergenerational scheme, where living trumps ownership.
An outward looking neighbourhood, it will provide a mix of house types and sizes to meet this need in an integrated green infrastructure network focused on people rather than cars. To promote sustainability, we have created a series of interconnected green spaces, retaining and reinforcing existing trees and hedgerows enhancing the ecological value of the site.
Our places of living need to function beautifully, but will only do so if that function listens to our need for the group, for difference, for involvement, and for the feeling that we belong. With its emphasis on architecture, design, community creation, sustainability, and landscape, Netherhall Gardens sets a new standard for holistic living.
