Eddington

Cowen+Partners achieved planning consent in 2022 for 368 new build-to-rent homes and apartments in Eddington, NW Cambridge. The vision for Eddington is to create a place that is sustainable, long-lasting and ambitious, offering a high quality of life to enhance both the City and University of Cambridge.

Development seeks to secure the University’s long-term future and contribute to the City’s growth by providing homes for key workers, students and the public in a vibrant place to live. Cowen+Partners have sought to create communities of unique high-quality, high-design homes that appeal to a growing rental demographic of both families with children and the over 65’s. At the core of our vision is a rich community lifestyle where residents invest in their neighbours and their neighbourhood.

Our proposal offers a variety of residential types for the broad demographic within Cambridge. 1 bed, 2 bed and 3 bed apartments sit alongside 3 and 4 bedroom family homes in a close knit environment that encourages social sustainability and wellness. Our design creates connections between homes and families by offering high-end shared amenities, luxury health facilities, open green spaces, and a thoughtful layout that works to bring people together.

We design neighbourhoods as frameworks for diversity. We amplify the unique elements of briefs and sites to create places that have distinct and long-lasting character.
